Top 10 Creepiest Child PSA
Hey. HEEEY! Anybody out there?

Warning, these are disturbing and do include animation, both hand drawn style and digital. However, I think they are disturbing in the best way possible and truly convey the emotions that they intended. The old Japanese #anime one was my favorite, especially since "verbal violence" and/or "emotional abuse" is rarely discussed EVEN NOW.

Warnings include:
* Eating Disorders
* Filicide
* Drugs
* Child Marriage
* Child Molestation/Rape
* Child Abuse

Media-opoly (to School House Rock) by Robert Smigel

It is purported that this was shown once on the comedy television sketch show Saturday Night Live, then removed from the line-up, since it never re-aired. Honestly, it's surprising that they got away with it at all. The artwork is also spot on in my humble opinion, speaking as someone who grew up watching the original animation.

Cartoon Network's banned cartoons
It is a little surprising that some of these made it by the censors once, actually!

John K's Simpsons sketch

This came as a surprise to me, given how much John K hates the simpsons (as well as just about any animation younger than he is)

he's a lesser-quality with voices

So Laciest!

Found at this wonderful website for those animation historians out there, called the Bray Animation Project!

I also wanted to know, does anyone mind if people post current animations that could be considered offensive but were not banned any where because they aren't mainstream, like a student film.

Happy Five Year Anniversary!
it was about 5 years ago I started this LJ community... it may not be the busiest place on planet LJ, but its still been a great community! Lets keep it going another five!

so to commemorate, here's the 1st cartoon I posted here, Tex Avery's All This and Rabbit Stew

A negative portrayal of black sterotypes by todays standards, but, just as Elmer Fudd was a characture of Arthur Q. Bryant, the antagonist in this short is a characture of the then-popular black commedian-character Stepin Fetchit, whose brand of comedy hasnt aged any better with the times either.

So yeah, I just see this as the 1930s version of Bugs Bunny vs. Homie the Clown, or Jules Winnfield.

but that's my take on it... what's yours?
